Situation:
I've created a new project - to make sure I've written it properly, I'm pretending to search for a project organically and I can't find my project!
Solution:
There are a few reasons why this may not be showing up in search results:
- Project may be Unlisted
- Project's date may be too distant
- Project was submitted within the last 30 minutes
- The keyword I am searching is not in the project's title or descriptions
Project may be Unlisted
It may be that your project has been set to be unlisted. This means that the project will not be found by searches in JustServe.
Project's date may be too distant
Only projects that take place in the next 90 days are included in project search results. If you're planning ahead and adding projects for several months in the future, These won't be included in search results until 90 days before your project's date (or the first date, if your project is ongoing, recurring or a multiday project).
If you'd like to test if your project is found by normal searches, you can manually widen the window of your search by pushing the end date filter such that your project's date is included.
Project was submitted within the last 30 minutes
Projects can take up to thirty minutes to be included in search results. If the project was added within the last few minutes and we're not seeing the project included in search results, we may need to try again in thirty minutes.
The keyword I am searching is not in the project's title or descriptions
Project searches only look in a project's title, short description & long description for matching words. If the search word being used is only found in a section other than the project title or descriptions (such as the volunteer responsibilities or the name of the sponsoring organization), those projects won't be found by the search.

Isn't it also true that a newly posted project may not yet be added to the cache, and that the cache is only updated on some kind of a regular cadence?
That's a great point to bring up - I've added this into the article, but I've learned it's 30 minutes
