Students can be an influence for good through meaningful service with a JustServe Student Club. The purpose of JustServe, simply stated, is “building unity through community service.” JustServe Clubs are youth-led and community-driven service clubs that can be hosted at high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, colleges, universities, or within independent homeschool groups. These clubs are service-focused and inclusive, welcoming all students.
1. Complete Administrative Requirements
Review your school's requirements to start a club. This may include obtaining approvals, completing paperwork, drafting bylaws, and securing a faculty advisor or sponsor. Requirements vary by school, so work directly with administrators to understand the process. Financial activities, if any, should follow school policies and be managed responsibly by designated club leaders. Clubs should operate in alignment with school policies and create a safe, inclusive environment where all students
feel welcome. JustServe Clubs are not defined by or centered on any political or religious affiliation and should focus on service that benefits the community.
2. Register Your Club
Once your club is approved, register at JustServe.org/clubregistration. Registration connects your club to:
- JustServe resources and service ideas.
- A national network of other JustServe clubs.
- A Club Resources Kit to help you launch and grow your club.
Clubs may use the JustServe name and logo in alignment with JustServe Guidelines and the JustServe Style Guide. Each club operates independently and is responsible for its own activities, decisions, and communications.
3. Recruit Members
Invite others to join through announcements, social media, word of mouth, and school events such as club rush or back-to-school activities. Build a welcoming environment that encourages participation from all students. Organize basic leadership roles and determine how often the club will meet. A faculty advisor can help support the club and provide guidance as needed.
4. Serve
Plan and participate in meaningful service projects that meet real community needs. Projects can be simple or large and should be appropriate for the age and abilities of members. Use JustServe.org to find opportunities or create your own projects. The goal is to serve safely, work together, and make a positive impact in the community.
5. Connect and Share
Share your club’s impact with JustServe and your community. Submit reports and highlight service experiences by emailing clubs@justserve.org. Club officers can participate in the National Youth JustServe Club Council to collaborate, share ideas, and grow as leaders.
