Starting and leading a club can bring up questions. Here are simple answers to help you move forward. Every club is unique, with flexibility to adapt to your specific circumstances.
HOW FREQUENTLY DOES THE CLUB MEET?
There are no set requirements for how often a club meets. Each club determines a schedule that works best for its members. Some clubs meet monthly, while others organize around specific service projects or events. The goal is to create a rhythm that allows for consistent and meaningful service.
WHAT TYPES OF PROJECTS ARE AVAILABLE?
JustServe offers a wide variety of service opportunities through its platform, including local, ongoing, and event-based projects. Clubs may choose to participate in opportunities found on JustServe.org or create their own service projects based on community needs. Both approaches are encouraged.
DO OUR PROJECTS HAVE TO COME FROM JUSTSERVE.ORG?
No. While JustServe.org is a valuable resource for finding service opportunities and connecting with organizations, clubs are not limited to projects listed on the platform. Clubs are encouraged to serve in ways that best meet the needs of their community.
DOES JUSTSERVE RESTRICT WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
JustServe does not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, ethnicity, or other protected characteristics. Clubs should create an inclusive and welcoming environment where all individuals feel respected and valued.
ARE THERE MEMBERSHIP OR REGISTRATION FEES?
There are no membership fees required for JustServe Student Club members.
DOES JUSTSERVE MANAGE OR HANDLE CLUB FUNDS?
No. JustServe does not collect, manage, or distribute funds for clubs. If a club chooses to handle funds for service-related purposes, those activities must be managed independently and clearly outlined in the club’s bylaws. Clubs are responsible for ensuring financial transparency and compliance with any applicable guidelines or regulations.
CAN OUR CLUB FUNDRAISE OR COLLECT DONATIONS?
Clubs may choose to support service efforts in a variety of ways; however, any fundraising or financial activity must be conducted independently. Clubs should establish clear guidelines within their bylaws for how funds are handled and used. JustServe does not provide a tax-exempt number.
WHAT SUPPORT DOES JUSTSERVE PROVIDE TO CLUBS?
JustServe provides resources, ideas, and a platform to help clubs find service opportunities and connect with community organizations. Registered clubs may also receive additional guidance and opportunities to collaborate with other JustServe Clubs. JustServe Service Clubs are meant to be simple, flexible, and community-driven. The goal is not to create complexity, but to make it easier for people to come together and serve.
