There are collections of projects that are related to specific disasters. See the links below for some current examples. Disasters can take years for people and communities to rebuild, recover, and heal from. With many needs in each of these areas, you can search and find a way to help.
Note: When a disaster hits, please do not drop-off unsolicited donations to shelters or organizations. And please do not self-deploy to impacted areas. We encourage you to wait until relief efforts are organized and resources are in place. Spontaneous volunteerism creates what is often called a “second disaster." Having to support the needs (shelter, food, safety, and so on) of additional volunteers with the same limited resources available to support those in need complicates the situation.
